Honestly don't know how I passed lol 12 years of driving and didn't know you gave way to cars straight ahead that are turning right. Allways thought it was just cars directly to my right.

I failed 5th time at Morden test centre latest two weeks ago, every time different reasons. I'm so confused about what to do? Shall I book again soon or give a break? Pls Frances pls advise me.

My issue with roundabouts is moving off quickly enough when I’ve seen my gap. My instructors car (she’s now got a courtesy car annoyingly) had an automatic handbrake and I found it really easy to get my gear and set my gas ready to move off when I had my opportunity. Now I’m back to handbrakes, it’s really hard for me to move off quickly/steer with one hand once I’ve released my handbrake 😬

When you say about keeping the tyres to the left of the reference point - are you talking about the tyres of parked cars or the cars ahead of you? I didn't quite understand!

There’s a double round about in Liverpool one joins on to the next best piece of advice my instructor gave me was whatever lane you start in is the lane you finish in and it’s good advice I still use it today it’s a very very complicated junction but as with anything you get used to it , practice is the key . I’ve been driving for 16 years now and for the first year after passing my driving test I never had the radio on never had a cd on and anyone who was in the car with me wasn’t allowed to speak at all because I was always wanting to concentrate on the road 🛣️ and arriving safely. I have music on now if am driving around town and such . But if am driving somewhere I don’t know then I go back to that concept.

The only way crossing behind will work is if traffic is light or you have roads full of courteous drivers. The senario where he positioned himself in the only gap left in the crossing would have blocked anyone else approaching who was wanting to turn, if you had cars doing the same both sides the crossroads would come to a stand still as there will be no room for cars to turn either way. To suggest it is safer is madness, turning nose to nose gives you a clear view of traffic going straight on from the other side, rather than trying to cut through a line of traffic wanting to turn behind you.

Watching this cause my instructor got annoyed that I wasn’t planning ahead 🥴😭😭😭 I don’t want to make him angry my next lesson lol

I’m doing my first ever lesson on 21st July it’s a Sunday ! I’ve never even sat in the drivers side before!! People keep giving me advice and not wanting to sound rude I don’t listen!! I’d rather just listen to my instructor. I’m super nervous and I’m 58 it’s on my bucket list to learn to drive . I sit at bus stops and watch people get in there cars and have always wished that was me . X

Honestly, when I first watched this video I was terrified 😅 it seemed like a lot to do whilst also trying to drive but once you've got the hang of the size of your vehicle and how to handle it, this video is GOLD. I started learning to drive recently and my instructor she is telling me to shuffle steer and saying that I need to do that when turning I had a go but I really struggled so there’s some work to be done and do I have to learn the shuffle steer ???
